Our Commitment

PCS Energy was formed by multi-family apartment owners for the benefit of multi-family apartment owners. PCS founders understand the unique needs associated with multifamily housing, and we customize our solutions to reflect those unique needs.

Everything we propose is tested and proven technology that has been installed on our own properties. Our goal is to recommend and implement processes and to install systems that will reduce or eliminate your electric and other utility costs while improving the lighting and living experience at your property. This will also increase your monthly cash flow and in turn substantially increase the value of each property. The ROI is usually less than 3 years.

After our implementation, we will generate easy to understand, real-time and monthly reports based on benchmarking. The only way to truly and effectively create savings is to track and evaluate the savings as you move forward.

PCS Energy will also help with anticipating future needs. We make it easier for our clients to adapt to upcoming regulations, such as Title 24 compliance and AB1103, regulations that are unique to the California multi-family housing industry.

Our Process is Comprised of Three Unique Steps

  • 1

Step One involves a complete energy audit at your property to identify such items as lighting that may be outdated or inefficient, EV charging needs, the need for solar electric PV systems, demand-reducing equipment, and other cost-saving items associated with your utility bill.

  • 2

Step Two involves a turnkey and a la carte overview of recommended improvements with time frames and costs along with available rebates, incentives, and tax benefits. This overview will identify the advantages of doing each item stand-alone or the recommendations in whole.

  • 3

Step Three implements each of the approved projects from start to finish. We benchmark and track each process and evaluate the success of the project on a going forward basis. This will ensure that the projects put into place and the investments made are evaluated, confirmed, and maximized.

PCS Energy understands that multi-family apartment operators benefit financially by continually improving their management of energy resources. We provide the experience, resources, and tools to put you on the path to energy cost savings and increased NOI.

The PCS Energy Difference

  • Access to a broad range of products

Unlike many competitors, we are not tied to specific manufacturing lines. Using the highest quality products from reputable vendors, we offer a comprehensive range of innovative solutions across multiple manufacturers. And we have the necessary product expertise to ensure you get the solution that best meets your needs. We stay current with emerging technologies, too, so we can make them available when they are right for you.

  • Solutions design expertise

We offer an extensive track record in solar and EV charging as well as lighting system evaluation, design, implementation, and management. Our process includes an infrastructure audit, future needs assessment, financial analysis, and impact review for your property. Weʼre responsible for your project from inception to completion, ensuring your solution achieves optimum efficiency levels and maximizes your ROI.

  • In-depth knowledge of rebates and tax incentives

We stay informed by continually reviewing all requirements for utility company rebates and tax-deduction incentives. Our up-to-date knowledge allows us to navigate the complexities of federal, state, and local programs for your company to ensure you capitalize on all available financial incentive opportunities.

  • A service model focused on the needs of our clients

We certify contractors through our Contractor Partner Program, assign the appropriate resources for the job requirements, and provide direct oversight on every project. You can be confident that your project will be completed within budget and on time. A quality review at the end of every job ensures that our service matches up to our high standards.

Just how does sunshine become electricity? Hereʼs an overview of the solar energy facts, the process, and the equipment that can help you generate your own clean, more affordable energy.

  • 1
    Solar Panels

The solar panels are made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells, which convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity throughout the day.

  • 2
    Inverter

This device converts the DC electricity generated by the solar panels into the alternating current (AC) electricity.

  • 3
    Electrical Panel

The AC electricity is sent from the inverter to your electrical panel to power your lights and appliances with solar energy. The electrical panel is often called a “breaker box.”

  • 4
    Utility Meter

The utility meter measures your energy use. It actually goes backward when your system generates more power than you immediately need. This excess solar energy offsets the energy you use at night.

  • 5
    Utility Grid

Your business is still connected to the grid. Youʼll need that power from the utility company at night, but donʼt worry. The cost is offset by any excess solar energy you put into the grid during the day.

  • 6
    PCS Energy Monitoring System

Our comprehensive monitoring system continuously tracks your energy production and ensures that your solar power system is running smoothly. It will even alert our repair crews in the rare event that problems arise.

FAQs

  • Will I have power in a blackout?

To ensure your safety, the inverters on the panels shut down automatically during a blackout. When power is restored to the grid, your system automatically resumes operation.

  • What rebates and incentives are available?

The federal and California governments have incentives for multi-family solar projects. Often, incentive programs operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so thereʼs never been a better time to go solar.

  • What is the warranty on solar panels?

Our solar panels have a 25-year factory warranty, and the entire system has a 10-year warranty.

  • If my propertyʼs roof is shaded, does that make a difference?

Shade reduces the amount of electricity your system can produce. With the PCS Energy system the panels can operate independently, so if one panel is in the shade during part of the day, the others still generate electricity. We will design your system for maximum sun exposure, but sometimes a roof may be too shady to make solar feasible.

  • How much maintenance is needed?

PCS Energy solar systems generally require very little maintenance. Spraying them down with water once a year to remove dirt and debris is typically all that is needed.

  • How many solar panels will I need for my property?

PCS Energy will survey your property, examine your electric bills, and do a detailed analysis of your electricity usage over the past year; we then size your system accordingly.

  • How does a PCS Energy solar system work?

Photovoltaic panels made of semiconductor material (silicon) capture sunlight and convert it to direct electric current (DC). Inverters installed on each panel convert the DC current to safe alternating current (AC) that can be used in your property. The AC power is connected to your electrical panel (sometimes called an electrical breaker panel or electrical box) for electricity distribution throughout your property, or for return to the utility grid for credit.
